even before we bought our apartment in may of 2006, there has been ongoing construction at the end of hayworth (our street). a parking lot that used to serve as overflow for the Director's Guild of America (the dga) is becoming a 4 or 5 story mixed-use building, retail on the bottom floor and loft-style apartments on top of that. we have not had a sidewalk on sunset blvd between our street and laurel (where the cpk and the gym is) since we moved in here. we've perilously walked in traffic risking our very lives for a neopolitan-style white pizza or an eyebrow wax by tommy at apple nail.
until this week! finally, the scaffolding is gone. the sidewalk has reopened, only better! there are planters and cobblestoney-type brick inlays. it's a whole new paradise.
i made good videos of this but am having trouble posting them. so instead, here are pics of handicapped chihuahuas who use little scooters to get around. try looking at this and not smiling.
